Position Summary
Our client in the mining industry seeks to engage the services of a dynamic, self-driven, qualified, and seasoned individual for the above vacancy that has arisen within the organization. The incumbent reports to the CEO, and is responsible for effectively and efficiently sourcing capital goods and services and negotiating the price relative to the market demands while managing the business relationship with established suppliers to support the strategic and operational requirements of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing strategic leadership, oversight, and coordination roles in the Supply Chain services.
- Developing and implementing a vision for value-addition in strategic sourcing, procurement operations, inventory, and logistics management functions.
- Driving change across the organisation to ensure an efficient, cost-effective supply chain whilst maintaining high customer service levels.
- Formulating and administering procurement policies that ensure the integrity of the company.
- Designing internal processes that place the internal client at the centre and deliver beyond expectations to achieve customer delight.
- Managing cost control by ensuring adherence to departmental budgets.
- Safeguarding and enhancing the company’s reputation through professionalism and business ethics.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Supply Chain Management/Purchasing and Supply or equivalent.
- Post Graduate qualification such as an MBA or Master’s Degree in Supply Chain or equivalent.
- Professional qualification such as CIPS or equivalent.
- At least 5 years’ experience heading a PMU in a mining or heavy manufacturing industry.
- Experience with PRAZ operations is essential.
- Experience in working with SAP.
- Sound knowledge of SHEQ Management Systems.
